Position: Editorial assistant, delicious, Eye to Eye Media.

Reporting to: Editorial director, delicious.

Full-time, fixed-term contract (minimum 6 months)

Hybrid working (2 days in London office; 3 days WFH)

Start date: Mid August

What’s the role? This is an entry-level role for a passionate food lover looking to break into the world of food and drink consumer-led content. This role would have exposure to all sides of the delicious machine (digital, social and print), providing support for the team wherever they need it – that could be pitching and writing editorial, managing budgets, sending out weekly newsletters or speaking to our highly engaged audience.

Key responsibilities:   

Supporting the delicious editorial team across all platforms, including but not limited to:

  • Website: affiliate programme and SEO
  • Newsletters: building newsletters and reporting
  • Social: community management, scheduling and reporting on social analytics
  • Books: keeping abreast of upcoming books, logging publication dates and keeping PDFs up to date for commissioning and reviewing opportunities
  • Reviews: overseeing/calling in products and pictures, organising testing, writing copy and fact-checking
  • Legal: managing the rights and syndication of recipes and images (UK and international)
  • Networking: managing our contact database and developing close relationships with PRs and industry professionals, attending events as required
  • Editorial: keeping up with food and drink news and trends, and researching, pitching and writing
  • Budgets: logging and processing invoices
  • Community: reading and responding to the delicious audience inbox
  • Competitions: working with the marketing team to source and deliver prizes, write copy and liaise with brands
  • Organisation: from customer and client events through to sourcing and managing our props library

Key skills and experience:

  • A keen interest in food and drink, and awareness of restaurants, chefs, TV cooks, social media influencers and trends
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Good general computer skills (Excel/Google Sheets). Bonus points for professional experience using CMS (WordPress) and social platforms (Meta, Pinterest)
  • Strong literacy skills, with excellent grammar and spelling
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Passion for storytelling
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Agility and flexible approach to work – every day might look different!
