Tomato sauce

This simple tomato sauce recipe takes 30 minutes to make and can be used as a base for so many dishes. This version has a splash of red wine in it, although you could use water or stock instead.

Divide the cooled, finished sauce into freezer bags or containers and freeze for up to 6 months.
MICROWAVE IT This tomato sauce can also be cooked in the microwave (omit the olive oil and red wine). First cook your onions or garlic as in this recipe – then add the tins of tomatoes and oregano. Season and microwave for a couple more minutes, stirring halfway through.
