Traditionally, the French eat this on the twelfth night of Christmas (5 January), but it works just as well as an alternative Christmas Day dessert. The cake is cut into as many slices as there are people, and whoever gets the slice with the charm (or fève) is crowned king or queen for the day.
Or, make this chocolate twist on the traditional galette des rois, by Richard Bertinet.
