Our top tips for the perfect air fryer chips:
1. Soaking and rinsing the potatoes in water removes excess starch, which will help them crisp up.
2. After parboiling, get the chips as dry as possible – the more moisture present when they go into the air fryer, the harder it’ll be to crisp them up.
3. Take the time to toss the chips in oil until they’re completely coated – any parts of the potato not coated in oil will bake rather than fry.
4. Always add your chips to the air fryer in a single layer with a little space around each, so the hot air can reach each bit.
5. Shake and turn the chips during cooking to ensure even crispness throughout.
