Thank you for your nominations. Here are the shortlisted producers who have made it through to the final round…
Five Northern Irish food products from four local producers have reached the finals of the delicious. Produce Awards 2017.
The regional judges were Sam Butler, agricultural journalist and member of the Guild of Food Writers; Director of Folktown Community Interest Company Sophie Rasmussen, who helped to set up the new Folktown Market in Belfast; and chef, broadcaster and food writer Paula McIntyre, who is also Northern Ireland Director of Slow Food UK and coordinator of the Slow Food Chef Alliance in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland Finalists are:
- Clandeboye Estate Yoghurt Co., Bangor, Co. Down: Clandeboye Estate Greek Style Yoghurt
- Krazi Baker, Co. Down: Guanciale Potato Bread and Cinnamon Soda Farl Whisky Soaked Sultanas
- Mash Direct, Comber, Co. Down: Crispy Vegetable Bakes
- Cavanagh Free Range Eggs Ltd, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh: Free Range Eggs
The regional finalists will be judged at the national final in July by some of the top names in the food industry. The winning products and producers will be announced online and in the magazine’s October 2017 issue, and then featured throughout the year.
