How to use leftover hoisin sauce
- Noodle salad
Boil fine egg noodles for 2-3 minutes, then drain and refresh in cold water. Mix 2 tbsp hoisin sauce with a splash each of soy sauce, honey and chilli sauce. Stir into the noodles with a handful of soy beans, some chopped fresh coriander and finely sliced spring onions. - Hoisin drumsticks
Heat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6. Mix 2 tbsp hoisin sauce with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1/2 tbsp toasted sesame oil. Put 500g British free-range chicken drumsticks into a baking tray and coat with the sauce. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the chicken is cooked inside and sticky outside. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced spring onions.
