Whiskey sour

A spicy, warming cocktail made with bourbon whisky and lemon – serve this American classic as an alternative to champagne at New Years Eve or Christmas parties.

Ingredients
- 600ml bourbon whiskey
- 300ml fresh lemon juice
- 300ml sugar syrup
- Angostura Bitters
- 10 thin lemon slices to garnish
- 10 maraschino cherries, each spiked onto a cocktail stick, to garnish
Method
- Pour the whiskey, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a large jug with ice cubes, then stir with a long spoon for 30 seconds to chill. Strain into 10 short glasses with a couple of ice cubes in the bottom. Splash a few drops of Angostura Bitters into each one, then stir. Garnish with a lemon slice and maraschino cherry.
