Sugar puff pastry trees

This quick recipe for festive puff pastry trees require just two ingredients and make a lovely edible Christmas gift. Or make them with kids for some fun yet fuss-free festive baking.
- Serves 8-10
- Hands on time 10 mins, plus 10-12 mins baking time
Ingredients
- 375g pack ready rolled puff pastry
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan200°C/gas 7. Unroll the puff pastry sheet, lightly brush all over with water and sprinkle with the sugar. Using a Christmas tree cutter (or draw your own template) stamp out Christmas tree shapes. Put on a baking sheet, leaving space between each tree. Bake for 10-12 minutes until risen and golden. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a little more sugar, if liked. Serve with whipped cream and jam.
- To give as a gift, arrange in a suitable box and eat within 2 days.
