Treat your mum, partner, family or friends to a slap-up roast dinner: Debbie Major’s roast chicken with a separate cheesy sausage stuffing.
Alternatively, stuff your Sunday roast chicken with bread stuffing à la Alan Rosenthal.

Don’t be tempted to use cheap bread for this dish as it will disintegrate in the milk.
Prepare the stuffing 1 day ahead, then chill, covered, in its roasting dish. Bring to room temperature before baking.
Salsiccia are meaty Italian pork sausages. Find them in Italian delis, or use other good quality free-range sausages.
