Ingredients
- 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
- 3 tbsp golden caster sugar
- Juice ½ lemon
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 50g unsalted butter, melted
- 180g ready-made crumble mix
- 6 sweet pastry tartlet cases
Method
- Put the apples, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon in a pan (with a lid) and set over a medium heat. Cover and cook for 5-10 minutes until the apples are tender throughout. If you prefer a more stewed apple texture, cook for a few extra minutes until they fully break down. Meanwhile, in a bowl, stir the melted butter into the crumble mix until combined.
- Heat the oven to 200°C fan/ gas 7. Arrange the tartlet cases on a baking tray, spoon the apple mixture into the cases, then top with the crumble mix. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crisp on top. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
