Hot marmalade rum cocktail

The writer Michael van Straten is an expert on complementary medicine and well known for his healthy drinks recipes. This warm cocktail has been adapted from his lovely idea for a marmalade tea, adding dark rum to imbue an extra warm glow.

- Ready in 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1cm fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp thin-cut orange marmalade
- 20ml dark rum
Method
- Put the grated ginger into a jug or infuser and fill with boiling water. Leave for 5 minutes, then strain into a mug. (Warm up again in the microwave if necessary.)
- Add the marmalade and stir until dissolved. Add the dark rum, stir and drink while hot.
