Ingredients

600ml rye whiskey
150ml sweet vermouth
150g smooth cranberry jelly or sauce
¼ tsp fine salt
20 dashes angostura bitters
Cocktail cherries or fresh cranberries to serve

Method

Put the whiskey, vermouth, cranberry jelly, salt and bitters in a container with 200ml water. Seal and shake or stir vigorously until the jelly dissolves into the liquid. Funnel into a bottle, then cover and keep in the freezer.
To serve, shake or stir, then pour roughly 100ml into a coupe glass. Garnish with a cocktail cherry or cranberry.
