If you like your baked potatoes extra crisp, an air fryer is the way to go – it saves energy and money compared to a traditional oven AND cuts the jacket potato baking time in half while you’re at it. Add your favourite toppings to the potatoes once they’re cooked, or explore more options such as a Turkish beef mince jacket potato or salmon and sour cream option.

Ingredients
- 4 baking potatoes (about 175g each)
- Vegetable oil to coat
- Sea salt flakes
- Unsalted butter to serve
Method
- Heat the air fryer to 200°C. Pierce each potato a few times with the end of a knife, then rub all over with the oil.
- Put the potatoes in the air fryer and sprinkle with salt flakes. Cook for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway, until deeply crisp all over and fluffy in the centre. Cut them open, fluff up the flesh a little, then season with more salt and add a knob of butter. Eat as is or top with anything you like.

Make baked potatoes even quicker by giving them a 10-minute blast in the microwave – then just finish them in the air fryer for a final 10-15 minutes to crisp up the skin.
