Before you start
This is one of the rare instances where you don’t want to preheat your air fryer before using it. Allowing the bacon to heat up at the same time as the air fryer gives the fatty layers more time to render, avoiding those stringy bits of chewy fat.
Ingredients
- 6 rashers streaky bacon
Method
- Lay the rashers of bacon in your air fryer in a single layer. Close the lid/drawer and heat to 200°C. Check them after 7 minutes – depending on how quickly your air fryer heats up, they may need another 2-3 minutes.

Our top tips for the perfect air fryer bacon:
1. Go for streaky bacon over back bacon; the latter tends to dry out.
2. Always add your bacon rashers to the air fryer in a single layer with a little space around each, so the hot air can reach each bit.
