Tastes like home with MasterChef 2019 winner Irini Tzortzoglou: listen now
In this podcast I catch up with UK MasterChef winner, Irini Tzortzoglou, to find out her recipe that tastes like home.
This episode is dedicated to Irini’s mother, Maria Plevris Tzortzoglou, who sadly passed away recently..
Irini starts by telling me about how, back in her grandmother’s kitchen, she first learnt about using every part of the pig and now she continues that nose-to-tail eating in her cooking.
While most of us would balk at brawn, she tells me why she still adores the recipe she grew up on… especially served on hot bread for breakfast.
She takes me on a wonderfully nostalgic trip back to her home country of Crete as well as letting me in on her plans for the future.
