Cranberry sauce with orange

This classic cranberry sauce recipe is so easy you’ll wonder why you ever used shop-bought. Tangy orange adds a citrusy note.

- Takes 5 minutes to make, 10 minutes to cook, plus cooling
Ingredients
Grated zest and juice of 1 orange
175g caster sugar
75ml port
600g fresh cranberries
Method
- Put the orange zest and juice, sugar and port in a small pan over a low heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
- Add the cranberries and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes or until just soft and the sauce has thickened.
- Allow to cool before serving.
