What is a Mexican tortilla?
In Mexico, a tortilla is a thin, unleavened flatbread made using corn or wheat.
Popular Mexican dishes that use tortillas include quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and burritos.

These steak and pepper tortillas are really easy to make, just make sure you have plenty of guacamole and soured cream, to serve.
For something a bit different, how about a breakfast burrito? Fill with spicy beans, a fresh tomato salsa and your favourite breakfast bits and bobs.

What is a Spanish tortilla?
In Spain, tortilla refers to a type of omelette, usually made with egg, potato and onion. It is very thick and can also include other ingredients such as chorizo and mixed vegetables. Peppers can be a good choice too

Tortilla – if you think of a Spanish tortilla, it’s probably this classic you imagine, plump and packed with potatoes.
Squash can work well in a tortilla, and you could make the most of it if it’s in season. Give this butternut squash and sweet potato tortilla a go.
Or, get that salty, cheesy tang – try this feta and pea rosti tortilla. Tastes great cold for a picnic or lunch, too.
